Oats dosa recipe.
Oata are a healthy food high in nutrients and dietary fibre. There are lots of recipes that can be made using oats. We can use different types of oats which are available in the market (Instant, Rolled, steel cut, whole grain of the oats, Scottish cut, etc) depending on the the diah we want to prepare.
Let's see how to cook Oats dosa. These are healthy and easy to make. We can prepare same for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I have prepared the Oats dosa using various methods. By soaking the oats and then grinding it. Making a flour of same and use it to make dosa. Or just by adding the oats flour to leftover dosa batter.
Ingredients for oats dosa
- ½ cup oats (rolled or instant)
- ¼ cup rice flour
- ¼ cup semolina (sooji or rava) or wheat flour (aata) or idli rava
- Salt as needed
- 2 green chili chopped
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
- 2 tablespoon onions minced or very fine chopped (optional)
- Few curry leaves chopped
- ½ teaspoon ginger crushed or minced
- ¼ cup curd or yogurt (optional)
- water as needed
- 2 tablespoon Oil or ghee for cooking
Procedure to prepare the dosa batter and dosas
- Grind and prepare flour from the oats
- Mix all the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl
- Add salt, jeera, curry leaves, onion and ginger to the mix and add yogurt to same and mix well
- Add water gradually as needed
- Prepare a batter of pouring consistency, not too think not very runny. It should be similar to rava dosa consistency but little thicker than neer dosa
- Once the batter is mixed well keep it aside for 10 minutes
- Once ready, start making dosa by pouring the batter on hot tava on medium flame, spread evenly and then pour little oil or ghee on it
- Once crispy from one side flip it over, cook for the other side and flip again and fold.
- Repeat the process
- Your tasty, healthy oats dosas are ready, serve hot hot with peanut chutney, or coconut chutney or if none available you can eat it with ketchup as well
In other version just mix the oats flour to the left over batter and adjust consistency and prepare the dosas.
