Saturday evening craving for something sweet…. Perfect for your sweet tooth Dates and walnut tea cake… Try it… You gonna love it
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Maida (All purpose flour)
- 2 eggs
- Vanilla Essence 1 Teaspoon
- 4 Tablespoon sugar (Or as per your taste)
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 2 Tablespoon butter
- 1 cup deseeded dates(Khajur)
- 2 tablespoon crushed walnuts
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Chocolate syrup for garnishing
Process:
- Mix all dry ingredients(Maida, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and cinnamon) in a mixing bowl
- Add milk and 2 eggs and whisk well so that there are no lumps
- Add butter, vanilla essence and mix well to a thick batter consistency
- Add dates and walnuts to the batter and fold lightly into the batter
- Preheat the oven at 180 degree
- Grease the cake mould and dust little flour over it so that the cake comes out without sticking to the mould
- Pour the batter into the mould and place it in the oven and bake for 15 minutes at 180 degree
- Then again bake for 5 minutes at 220 degrees to give the crust a brown and crispy if you want to keep the crust soft bake 20 minutes at 180 degree
- Give it a rest time of 5 minutes after baking is done
- Once it is cool de-mould the cake and cut into desired pieces
- Enjoy with tea/coffee in morning or evening
